Everyone always wants to know about packing and rightfully so. Click HERE to go to the Packing list. But keep the following things in mind when packing and you'll be a lot happier:
| |
| |
1. You will be carrying whatever you bring, yourself . This means you probably want to think light and you might want to consider bringing a hiking backpack rather than a duffel. And definately not a suitcase. You will be packing and unpacking every other day for the most part and sometimes the drop off is as much as a quarter mile from the rooms (Turtle station).

| |
| |
2. You are going to a RAINforest environment. You and your things will get wet. Don't bring jeans or other heavy cotton items that are heavy and take forever to dry. Think about buying or borrowing plastic or synthetic materials for clothes. Nylon, polyester, polypropylene, etc. are much faster to dry, lighter, and wick moisture away from your skin better. |
| |
| |
3. We will do laundry halfway through the trip. Don’t pack for 12 days, pack for 6. The first 1/3 of the trip you will probably live in your swimsuit.
| |
| |
4. Its an adventure tour. There will be minor irritating problems like long bus rides, bug bites, sunburn, and blisters. So be prepared and keep an open mind. |

5. The success of your trip is up to you. Even if they don't appear on the packing list, be sure to bring the following: |
| |
| |
A positive attitude – complainers and people with bad attitudes can affect the whole group. This is an adventure through some amazing country where you will get a chance to see, hold, photograph and do many things you have probably only dreamed of. Don’t ruin it with a bad attitude. |
| |
| |
A flexible mindset – we will be going to a new country with new and different customs, foods, weather, and language. If you come knowing ahead of time that you are willing to try anything, you will have a much better time. |
| |
| |
Patience – We will be on buses for long periods of time and we will often be tired from all the days adventures. Rooming assignments may not always be just like you wished they’d be. It is important that students remember that this is an adventure and letting anything get under your skin will ruin the trip for all.
| |
| |
Willingness to make new friends – you may not be able to room with your closest friends every night. It is important that everyone do their best to be friendly to everyone. You never know when you will need that someone’s help. |
| |
| |
Toughness – Bug bites, sunburns, bruises and blisters are the most common problems we face on jungle adventures. Its best if you plan for them and just know that they don’t last long. A little toughness can go a long way towards getting through the bumpy bits. |
| |
| |
Other than these things, just follow the packing list and you should be fine. |
